Russia says it downed two drones that targeted the Kremlin in Moscow last night and accused Ukraine of attempting to kill President Vladimir Putin.

Unverified footage on social media appeared to show an object flying over the Kremlin before a small explosion.

Ukraine said it had nothing to do with the alleged drone strike.

President Volodymyr Zelensky's spokesman said Ukraine was focusing on liberating its own territory after Russia invaded last year.

Another official told the BBC the reported incident indicated Russia could be "preparing a large-scale terrorist provocation" in Ukraine.

That "explosion" didn't even damage the flag! Hardly a genuine threat.

What was Putin doing on top of the roof in the middle of the night hiding behind a flag?

Flase flag if I've ever seen one.

"There were injuries", yes the men in charge of protecting Putin just reportedly fell down a massive amount of stairs 😂

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, it does look and feel like a false flag operation. On the other hand, based on what Russia has shown so far, I find it equally plausible that their air defense is so pathetic that a drone could fly from Ukraine and strike the Kremlin.

Three am in the morning when this happened and someone was filming the Kremlin roof an two firefighters were on standby on the roof. What a pathetic attempt to accuse Ukraine.

More than likely a Russian than a Ukrainian

That drone explosion didn't even scratch the roof tiles how was that meant to kill someone? If that was a serious attempt it was on of the weakest I have ever seen lol

Such a pathetic attack it must have been done by Russia

The fact that it clearly aimed to bop the flag off instead of crash into the building is hilarious, as are the two guys on the roof. And the fact that the camera pans left to right following it as it appears framed in the window.
🤔Almost as if they knew exactly how it was gonng to approach.

Those drones were too small to attack from the Ukraine, it's more likely that they were launched inside Moscow.

Am I the only one who sees a drone flying towards a flagpole? Then exploding and not hurting said flag at all. How is that supposed to be an "assassination attempt" unless it was putin himself who was climbing slowly to the top of the roof but missed the drone by minutes?

My first question is why someone would know just when and where to point the camera in order to get the shot of the attack.

The reporter said “extraordinary clip” to me this looks like a couple of kids firing off bottle rockets.

The explosion was so small tho, Ukraine has a lot better drones if they wanted to do it

Whenever Russia pulls a stunt like this you can be sure its a prelude for something nasty coming ukrains way.

Rephrasing for a probable explanation: "Russia lies about assassination attempt to try to justify trying to assassinate Zelenskyy"
