UUkraine's incursion into the Russian region of Kursk has failed to slow Russia's own advance in eastern Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

Putin was speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia.

Kyiv has said that one of the objectives of the Kursk operation was to divert Russian forces away from areas within Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine suffered another night of strikes, with blasts heard in the capital.
