When it comes to a new Language, the very first thing you should do is: Listening and then Reading. Do this at least for 6 Months and you will be amazed because as a result of Listening and Reading you will be able to Speak confidently, effortlessly, persuasively. Many studies have shown this.

I've done all of it, and I'll tell you what, my English is superb. I feel confident during conversations because I enjoy English. A mandatory activity includes recording yourself and checking for pronunciation, intonation, and connected speech. It's awesome when people ask you if you were born into the English language. By the way, you don't study English, you practice it.

You forgot to recommend one thing: take an English language course, even if it's a short course, in an English speaking country such as Malta. You will get to meet people from all over the world, practise English outside the classroom. This gives you a real boost and you will gain confidence to speak the language. Great video.
