the feeling of watching all the cubs fans head for the exits in the seventh was awesome

Blake Perkins apparently just covers all the grass in center field, and the wall, and also the first row of seats. What a player!

I haven't really mentioned just how much the defense has improved since last year. Besides the error at 1st base, B.Perkins as said by the announcer, "Had the game of his life!" The catch by J.Chourio, the diving catch. Plus the wicked glove work by Joey Ortiz, this team's defense has been so exciting to watch. It seems that anything hit has the potential to be caught. Kinda funny but the 1978-1982 teams had similar defensive miracles. Gorman Thomas used to make flat out insane plays in Center field. Sixto Lezcano also used to make some phenomenal plays in right field. He left before 82 though. Both Yount and Molitor were very young, Jim Ganter as well. Granted not many teams will ever match the Brewers teams from 78-82 in Power, Average, Doubles, and Home Runs. They set records for each of them. They also had some pretty good pitching. Mike Caldwell, Lary Sorenson, Moose Haas, Billy Travers, Jim Slaton, and later Pete Vuckovich, and Don Sutton. They set records for complete games. Looking back they had one pitcher who had more complete games by himself than most of the MLB combined. Amazing how there are similarities with certain things and others that aren't even close. One similarity however is that this young team is sparking some of the same excitement as those 78-82 teams. Given the ages of these guys, if the Brewers make a commitment and keep them together, then maybe just maybe their chemistry can grow along with experience and abilities. This could be a great opportunity for a incredible run.

When Craig Counsell high tailed it and left Milwaukee people were not happy, including me. However as with many things, time heals. So does winning, that REALLY HELPS. Looking back, Counsell's teams over the last couple years had really low offensive output. Weak averages and if one player hit over .300 it was rare. Now after Counsell leaves, William Contreras is crushing the ball, over .310 average. Christian Yelich's average over. 300 again! The extra-base hits are coming up more often. This team's offense has gone back to it's potential. Then I looked at the Cubs lineup. Low batting averages. Quite a few players around .200, .230, and even below .200. So do you still miss Counsell? He was always a "loyal" team player. Sad it ended like this. And no I don't miss a team batting average of .225.

He wasn’t allowed this or that to a left handed hitter …. Yelich says nuketime it is 😂

Gotta love the Cubs announcers or the network announcers, this Ace pitcher hasn't walked or allowed an extra base hit to a left handed hitter all season. Christian Yelich comes to the plate. 💥 deep fly Home run. So much for that statistical anomaly.

I think it’s so funny how Counsel looks at the Brewers with regret

I need to watch more baseball! When I was growing up the Brewers were my AL team and the Cubs were my NL team. Gramma and Grampa would take me to Cubs games. Later I got to watch Robin Yount play his first year in Milwaukee. The only time I want see the Cubs to lose, is when they play the Brewers!

The Brewers can play with anyone if the pitching holds up.

We really need Hoskins back over at first badly...otherwise great night!

Scary Imanaga...not so scary. We destroyed him. This team is having this type of success with what sort of represents a rag tag starting pitching staff. When June rolls around, Hall, Ross, Junis and Bukauskas will all be back. Then you have Hoskins and Mitchell, who will be back sometime next month. It will be interesting to see what type of roster moves we will make over the coming weeks.

Be really cool if we didn't have a brewers coach for a coach. Should fire his ass and maybe pay for the relief pitching we need.
