This hurts me so much when their friendship fell apart you can see on episode 1 n 2 that they really care for eachother in episode 1 rhaenyra wanted to syrax with alicent and go on adventures when they grow up and in episode 2 alicent wanted the father and daughter to make amends after the death of aemma, there are moments where you can tell that they really care for eachother but those are my favs

I blame Viserys. He should've never marry Allicent if he wanted Rhaenyra to be queen. And when he knew Allicent was comanded by her father, he should've at least threaten her for treason or take back her title as queen. The truth is by wanting everyone happy he f*cked up.

The one dimensional hate without understanding a character just becz they're on the way of the protagonist is so.. Alicent didnt had the privilege nor she had a father like Viserys who would let his daughter do wateva she wants without any repercussion. Being the only daughter of such an ambitious n strict man, she had to follow orders n fullfill the duty of a daughter. She was a pawn, a child bride n y'all act like she wanted to marry a man old enough to be her father. She saw that marriage as a duty to fullfill her father's wish n was still team Rhaenyra untill she felt betrayed. People coming for Alicent but not Viserys who chose to fall in love with his daughter's best frnd n marry her. Had he refused to remarry, noone would've batted an eye n Alicent would've been relieved without the fear of disappointing her father. V doomed everyone by deciding to remarry n having male heirs no less.
