Minut’s sensor covers up to 530 square feet and can detect motion, glass break, temperature, mold, humidity, light, and noise. It also has smart sound sensing for your existing smoke or C.O alarms, so that you’ll be notified if they go off in Minut’s app. Aside from its plethora of capabilities, the Point has tamper protection and a built-in siren. Pretty cool, right?

Currently, the Point is integrated with Google Assistant or IFTTT so you can integrate it into your existing smart home system. Integrations with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit are in the works, according to Minut. With #Minut, you’ll self-monitor your system through the app on either the Apple store or the Google Play store, both of which have great ratings. For only $149 total, Minut is a great, affordable option.

Does it store a record of the Nosie levels overime? I'm looking for something that does so that when I get a noise complaint I can go back and verify if the the noise was coming from my rental at that point in time or not, I would also use it as documentation against any hoa noise fines

I am very interested in ordering a couple of these but have concerns about the base-plate attachment to the ceiling and what happens when I go to remove it in the future. Sheetrock does not handle being pulled on very well without tearing and leaving a eyesore.That fix will most likely require an entire ceiling repaint. Have you all had success removing these without harm to the paint & sheetrock? Are there alternate ways to mount like using anchors? Holes are much easier to patch that tearing sheetrock but even at that would most likely require repaint of the entire ceiling to match paint if home is more than a few years old.

Nice review! 2 Quick questions, what keeps the burglar from grabbing the alarm while the 45 sec countdown is busy and smashing it to pieces? Will an alarm still go of on your phone? Do you get a notification when someone takes it from the cealing?

Really useful review - thank you! I do have a question though: is it possible to setup noise and motion monitoring without it triggering the siren on the alarm? I would like to be alerted if there is movement or if noise goes above a certain level, but I do not want it to make the alarm/siren go off! Is this possible? Thanks ☺️

Looks really cool, however couldn't a burglar just knock it off the magnetic holder and throw it out the window/put it in a cupboard/under a mattress to muffle the sound?
