I really liked this video. I would DEFINATELY watch more of this sort. I have a similar experience here on the southwest coast of Canada. But it's all gold and garnets. LOTS AND LOTS of garnets.

Well sir you actually can spot diamonds with the naked eye if you know what to look for and color blind or not I’m 99% sure you picked one out 6:05 on the right side of the black foam there’s a big orange pebble. Just to the left of it there are two yellow stones the stone closest to the orange gem that’s touching the other yellow stone is a round shaped yellow diamond you can clearly see it’s clearer and brighter than any other yellow stone on the foam and it’s clear yellow and bright (diamonds are always bright in any light) can everyone see that? congrats to whomever wins this great gaw thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼 P.s. I’d invest in a gem sieve or make one your getting good at fabricating things lately and learn how to concentrate and flip a sieve and go back to that creek and get some more diamonds. I’ve been watching diamondminerirvins for years and that’s where I learned this skill.

I spent many hours picking tiny red garnets out of a bucket of dirt I collected in a ditch in Eastern Oregon. I filled a one ounce glass vile, it was super cool looking. Sadly I left it in a pocket, and it went into the washing machine.

Great vid! What's not to like? Shiny things and gobbly snuffer bottles! Nomnomnom 😀

Definitely try a UV light on the pan. Lots of gems will floresce under UV and that will make them easier to spot against the black sands

Hi Chris. Probably a stupid question and I know the colorblindness is a problem, but wouldn't using a jewelers loupe make the gems easier to spot? Especially with how small they are

I had the pleasure of looking for sapphires agile back in NSW, I used my gold pan to sieve through the larger sapphires, but kept the small cons. Then ran it through the river sluice to get rid of the fine unwanted sands. It worked rather well, have lots of small jess, sapphires and Ruby bits. I want to set them in a resin to make a pendant. Keep the jems ! ❤it

Neat video 👍🏻. Get a cheap light pad online and put your small gravel on top. Light it up and the gems will really stand out.

Can see zircons in there, which are brilliant as cut stones and often found when searching for alluvial gold - might take a guess and say maybe types of garnet (again often found with alluvial gold).

With the small gemstones, I had good luck with a paper plate tapping it slightly, the gemstones are round and seem to roll down hill, where the rocks wouldn't role. Dry by the way.

I enjoy watching you and explain the process

Diamonds have a very particular sheen. It outshines any stone around it. Once you see it you will understand. It's a sheen akin to a metallic gloss.💎

It would be cool to see you test the gems with a gemtester like Presidium gemtester.!!!❤️❤️
