Senator Bernie Sanders on live national television boldly stands behind the 3.5 trillion dollar Reconciliation Bill. Sanders points out how important it is to pass the bill given that it would address the crisis that working families are facing and it would get wealthy people to pay for their fair share of taxes. The Majority Report crew discusses how Sander’s initial proposed bill was 6 trillion dollars, whereas the Biden and Progressives compromise was the current 3.5 trillion dollar bill.

Emma Vigeland: Bernie Sanders is the senate budget committee chair and I'm not sure if you're aware of that it was a pretty big deal and so he's been at the center of these infrastructure negotiations now, understand that he initially floated a six trillion-dollar infrastructure figure all of this is spread out over 10 years so-
Matt Lech: That's a key point this is not like six trillion dollars which we could use in a single year with how much we've uh neglected our basic infrastructure.
EV: Right.
ML: But this is stretched out over 10 years.
EV: But notice how there are other bills that the media will frame as they're only spending in a current year they choose to for this bill refer to it as 3.5 trillion dollars etc.
