It turns out that Earth's interior is way more wild than you probably thought -- there's liquid metal, hidden oceans, and it's hotter than the surface of the sun. So, what's really going on below our feet?

HuffPost Science invites you to going the discussion with top scientists covering the latest news in spaceflight, brain/body research, evolution, and the influence of science on culture.

Goes to core of earth.

So tell me again why the Earth's interior isn't quite what we thought it was? Or was this video meant for people who thought the center of the earth was filled with pudding.

NOPE!  Professor Lindenbrook already took a 'journey to the center of the earth'... there are giant mushroom forests, dimetrodons, the lost city of Atlantis, and a big ocean that steals your jewelry with magnetic fields!  Don't care about the P-waves and S-waves and all the silly speculation - - - seen the video tape already.  That'll work for me until they dig a deep enough hole to SEE whats really down there.

I hate when people call it a ocean. Its just moisture in rocks. you cant swim in it. quit telling people this shit.

im here because of school you did a good job

Anyone that went to elementary school should know all of the information in this video already except for the newly discovered ocean. The title of the video is pretty misleading if you ask me. It makes it seem like the video would do more than just mention the new discovery once or twice.

Inner core was more hotter than the sun my reaction "WTF?!!"

It amazes me how they say what it is like with such certainty while the title of the article makes it sound like they don't know. Scientist explain how they know using information from seismic activity but if that were really as accurate as they infer, then why didn't we know about the ocean of water before now?

Very nice and beautifully explained, keep it up.

If you're using the imperial system rather than the metric system you're not talking nerdy, no matter what you say.

yea, sometimes the litosphere coming from below the asthenosphere could flow into oceanic crust causing mid-ocean ridges :>

and i already knew what was in this video but its still fun to watch

cool!.. Ive always wondered with more detail than was taught to me in high school about what lies beneath the earth's crust

There is also a thin boundary layer between the crust and the mantle that is made of oil.

actually from a physics perspective the core of the earth prolly isnt that dense.
as the further underground you go the less gravity there is.
earths gravitational field is actually stronger as its surface.

Just found you through a link on Huff Post.  Great video.  I look forward to exploring the other's you've produced.

Being a channel that is focused on science, how about using SI units instead of imperial measurements?
