Just what I needed. I've forgotten to stop our church stream after the service a couple of times now. That can result in an issue with my streaming provider who blocks the stream after 10 hours and prevents future streams. This should solve this issue for me. So YES, people did need to know about this. Thank You!

Thank you! Super helpful! I'm using obs to convert my VHS tapes to digital and I was looking for this feature so the recording will stop after the tape is done running (I leave the setup running when I sleep). I think it'll work perfect! Thanks for showing me how to do it!

Thanks for this. Just to let you know - I used it for the first time today - and I will be using it to stream recorded English sessions for English learners who live in different timezones. I have done some streaming before, but am relatively new to OBS, and this will mean I don't need to set a timer to end the stream. :)

I react to music, tv shows, movies etc. and I'm looking to find a script or plugin that will automatically hide the movie that I'm watching to avoid copyright strikes.
Will this work for what I'm needing to achieve? For example. I'm planning on reacting to the show Breaking Bad and I want the episode that I plan on recording a
reaction for to stay on the screen for a set amount of time (like 10 seconds) and then for it to hide the episode for 5 to 10 seconds. I want it to be a constant loop
of turning on for 10 seconds, off for 5 seconds, on for 10 seconds, off for 5 seconds. Hoping if this video isn't going to help if maybe you still know how to do this?

Great info. I have some webinars that run past when I need to leave for another event, so I can use this to record the end of them and not have it record 5 hours of blank screen until I get back home.

Thanks I didn't know this existed. I use this when I end my stream, to let me viewers listen to some music after I am done streaming, as they seem to really enjoy having a 10 minute ending stream

one usecase: digitalizing VHS Tapes
For E180 tapes set the timer to 3 hours for E240 set it to 4 hours

This would be great if I didn't have stack of Sony hi8 tapes I have no idea how long they run for lol. I'd hate to record 2 hours of extra blue screen on the end

Thanks for the clear video. Is there a way to auto start at certain times as well? For example, start at 9 am and stop after 8 hours. Or stop after 8 hours and start after 16 hours.
