Thanks for sharing a little bit of your background with us. Traveling is not for me. I live in NYS in the beautiful country and my little piece of paradise that I call Peaceful Pines Homestead..I love to sit under one of many of my pine trees and take in the beauty of nature. I have a fruit orchard, to many berry bushes to mention, a small greenhouse with several raised beds and a backyard flock..I love the simple life which is why traveling isn’t my thing. 2-years ago my oldest and I went to visit my middle son that decided after doing his 4-yr term in the USMC settled in California when he met a girl, married with 3-babies of his own. I didn’t like California at all..lol..Where my son lives its a hour from LA and everything is dead, no lush green lawns, mountains that are dead looking..106* in June..nope..not for me! I told my son I don’t know how you want to live in such a different type of environment then what he was grew up in..his answer it’s warm, sunny year round..no mosquitoes..lol..He did get stationed while in the USMC in Japan for 3-years..he said it was so beautiful there..he swam the ocean with the sharks, literally have filmed him ..got his scuba diving certified card..and ate endless amounts of sushi which he loves..I have been to Las Vegas at age 12..Florida at age 20..South Carolina in 1988 when husband graduated bootcamp, ..it’s not for me I didn’t enjoy myself at all it’s to hot, I was sweating terrible and black flag out at 9:00 in the morning which means it was over 90* when my husband was graduating and the air is thick as thieves 🥵..North Carolina lived there (Husband is a USMC) for 3-months..not my thing I left my husband and came back home, ,lol, not really funny at the time..but..we did get back together years later..did visit Virginia while living in NC..2013 went to South Carolina to watch my son graduate from USMC bootcamp..then to Vermont that’s it..I do want to visit Mexico since my dil’s family is originally from there, owns agave fields, cows, lots of land, and as of last year my dil bought a piece of land there..other then that I have no desire to go anywhere else. So who takes care of your animals when you leave? We just have our chickens now since my precious pup passed last year..I could ask my brother or dad to take care of our chickens but never had to yet..
