I trekked to Choquequirao back in 2010, there is a stone stream they made that brings melted icewater from the peaks down to the settlement and it still flows along the top of the wall around the place after all this time... the baths were full of leaves and such but would probably still work as well if they cleared them out... Nobody was there except one local caretaker as you can't get there without hiking 2 days, I highly recommend checking it out if you can before they put in a monorail LOL :-)

Years ago in Peru the first thing i noticed was the traces of other builders. There is stone work throughout Peru the Inca just plain couldn't have done. If you ever work with stone like basalt or granite like cutting or engraving you know what i'm talking about.

One problem the Inca themselves said they didnt build the great cities and superhighway, they put small stones on top of perfect stonework it's easy to see if you look

You poor sods. The Inca didn't build ANY of those ruins. They merely re-inhabited them after the preceeding civiilizations left. In Peru, the natives speak of the "Haran Pacha" and the "Uran Pacha." The stonework gives it away. Atop the constructs of the Stone Benders, the Inca piled up primitive attempts at conservation when they arrived, but the Old Ones, and the Really Old Ones? They were long gone. The Inca were only around for about 150 years, whereas those ruins predated them, perhaps by millennia.
