Bro I thought my suit had fake pockets 💀

Thank you, I thought my pockets were shut because that’s how the suit was made

You know, I have genuinely wondered about the stitching in the outside pockets. Thanks for clearing that up!

It amazing how many people don't know this!

Indeed you feel GREAT in a suit. I started a job recently that requires a suit, and it is a hoot! The best is coordinating the shirt and tie. Really looks sharp to have a color that pops, or go the sleeker, dark route. Plus my dad is a retired teacher. He doesn't need them anymore, so he game me all the ties. Not just his ties... I have ALL THE TIES! In over 2 months, never wore a tie twice so far.

Same goes for the red Hugo Boss label on the sleeve that some muppets leave on!!

Brian you would still look good even if you committed all the style mistakes in a single outfit.

Oh my God my stitching has been on display for almost 5 years. Thanks for the wake up call.

I notice some people leaving the label on the sleeve of their new coats. Like, say, a cashmere coat that has the label that tells you were the wool was made. I have to wonder if these people just don't realize it's not a design element.

That shoulder to hand fitting is just outstanding. Props to the man who made it

I have vests of suits on which I never opened the inside of the pockets, to keep it smooth

The alterations person at your dry cleaner should be your new best friend. They can remove tack stitches and make a few alterations. This makes your new suit yours.

That's great advice, you should point when you are going to open the pockets use a pointy scissor, do it carefully because you can tear the lining! 👏👏👏

My sister's wedding dress still had the stitching in and no-one told her it opened up to be huge

I'm always telling my young friends to remove that stitching! And they're always amazed when they have a usable pocket!

notice how he said "carefully remove"
dont rip them out....it could cause damage.

i actually leave the front pockets stitched (not the pocket square) unless they're patch pockets. I don't use my front pockets anyway.

I actually prefer the pockets stitched

Do not unstitch the bottom pockets if you arent gonna use them. They will sag over time and not look good.

Thanks! I was actually always wondering why all my jackets had fake pockets😂

feel free to leave the pocket stitching in tack - it keeps the shape of your suit - and keeps you from sticking your hands in your suit jacket pocket and stretching the pocket and eventually looking like a kangeroo. The suit large pocket fell out of "function" about 60 years ago. If you want use a pocket on your suit/use the "inside jacket pocket" and look like james Bond instead of Mr. Magoo
