Looks like we have a ZigBee problem, Sonoff released a powerful on paper, and very nicely priced Sonoff ZIGBEE 3.0 USB DONGLE PLUS coordinator. I'm testing it against CC2531, and zzh.

Finding the price very compelling, I got this coordinator, hoping the pairing issue has already been solved. It was a bit challenging at first to flash the latest Z-stack on an M1 Mac, but in the end I found success with ZigStarGW-MT & holding the BOOT button on the coordinator all the time. I gave a reboot to the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 running Home Assistant, and ZHA then recognized the coordinator right away. It then immediately paired with a temperature sensor, no problems what so ever. I hope this helps someone someday!

I have just bout this unit and only watched this episode after the fact. If I did it the other way round I most probably would have given it a skip. In any case glad I got it in the end, although I had some initial worries as I could not get any device to pair. Updated to the latest firmware and still not able to pair anything. As a last resort moved the device away from the raspberry pi with an extension cable and everything just started working without any issues. Now have 35 devices paired, mainly Aqara & Zemismart. Saved me 100 Euros as I was about to buy one from Saleh's (Extra expensive because of the shipping I selected).

You were so right.
I ordered a Sonoff Dongle Plus a month or so ago, before I saw your video. It arrived last Saturday, I installed it Sunday, as an upgrade to my CC2531 (not coping well with 24 devices).
All at first seemed to work. No re-pairing required, Zigbee2MQTT listed all my devices, and all seemed OK - except that the LQI values seemed to be missing for many devices and a few were not showing battery status. But then I noticed one of my devices - a Lidl 3-gang power extension, had become unresponsive. So I reset it. And it would not pair - no matter how many times I tried. Weirdly, my other, identical, power extension is still OK - though often slow to respond. I haven't dared to reset that one though.
I have a zzh CC2652R1 dongle on order from Electrolama now.

For me it was other way around. With oryginal FW i had issues with parring. After FW update to latest 20210708 its working great.

The Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 Dongle works with IObroker and Home Assistant very well.
I have not one of the problems mentioned in this video. Pairing works always with no issues within seconds.

I bought this Zigbee coordinator (version: build 20210708) and absolutely cool, HomeAssistent Rpi 3+ found it detected and three types of sensors and Tesla thermostatic heads paired in seconds.

After upgrading the firmware on mine I noticed the same issue, oddly, after I wiped the NVRAM everything worked without issue though.

I actually had pairing issues as well with the latest July firmware on my CC2652P that's not from Itead, but no issues with the previous version

Do other IKEA ZigBee devices like bulbs, outlets, motion sensors and circular dimmer remotes pair as well as the IKEA on/off remote? Because if someone only has IKEA ZigBee devices then this dongle may be adequate for them as it is.

I'm asking because I fit into that description. I have several Trådfri lamps, outlets and remotes and am planning to get some Shelly's for my ceiling lights and I would like to ditch the IKEA gateway and integrate everything into a raspberry pi running mqtt and hass or node red -haven't decided yet- for uniformity.

I don't know how to flash any software. I need something that doesn't require any flashing. So that I can directly use it to add zigbee devices and use it with homeassistant.

i upgraded my server to usb 3.0 to use external drives for nas, after powerup the external usb 3.0 devices the whole zigbee network is gone .... i use the white sonoff thing with tasmota. i fixed it with a ferrite core on the usb cable near the enddevice (not on computer)

It's disappointing that so many devices are not pairing properly. I think I will stick to the what I have for now as everything pairs to my little DIY 2531 solution. It still pairs with all the current devices I use. Just noted something looked a bit weird with the lighting in this video. The contrast was really harsh with some nasty shadowing.
Just one question. * Can the TI chips be upgraded to Matter with Firmware like SiLabs chips can or are they always stuck as ZigBee? *

I got a silmilar cc2652p zigbee dongle with paring issues. They completly vanished when i use an usb extension cable, probably an interference with the RP4
