Guards at Pakistan-India border perform ceremony on independence anniversary

Pakistani and Indian border guards take part in a daily ceremony at the Wagah-Attari border post as Pakistan celebrated the 75th anniversary of its independence a day before India.

Crowds went wild as soldiers goose-stepped in a chest-puffing theatrical ritual symbolising the countries’ antipathy after independence, but the display ended with a brisk, brotherly handshake.
