Obviously Sir Hopkins gave an all timer performance, but we can’t overlook Anthony Heald’s performance as Dr. Chilton. His facial expressions and mannerisms are so good. The way he shows off Dr. Lecter, almost like he’s a science project. Great acting from Heald.

Dr Lecter looks completely unimpressed that Dr Chilton could not find his pen. This is worse than all the terrible treatment he has received from Chilton. Lecter can’t wait for an opportunity to have him for dinner as a punishment for clumsiness.

I can't help but love Anthony Hopkins in this movie regardless of the hideousness of this role.

For a man who loathes rudeness, he sure went after the senator, who was otherwise being very gracious with him. She didn’t understand it was part of the quid pro quo game he likes, so of course she was immediately offended. In Clarise’s case, she understood the ‘rules, ’ so was more willing to tactically share personal details as a way to extract information.
