My mom passed away 2 weeks ago and my dad is thinking about selling the house I grew up in. My childhood dog who was my dad’s hunting buddy is buried in the backyard. Almost 40 years of memories at that house. Also, most of the older houses have recently been demolished with big, new homes being built in their place. This song really hits home..

I am 💯% city girl. I lived in Pearl Harbor area where sailors would do country dancing in a bar there and I could not relate to country dancing let alone country music. I said, I will never like anything country. However, moving to Texas from Honolulu, HI (Jan 2024)made me realize how beautiful country music is. I listened and realized every country song is like story telling. I am hooked. I love country music and am trying to learn country line dancing now. Lesson learned: Never say never.
