Now in a sudden turn of events, Mohamed Muizzu has expressed hope to sign a FTA with India amid the country's fragile economy. In a separate development, the Maldives resumed using a Dornier aircraft and two helicopters gifted by India for medical evacuations. There is no doubt Maldives will witness a flurry of Chinese-supported and funded projects, however, finding common ground and fostering cooperation with India remains crucial.
