At the end of the Gospel of John, soon after the miraculous fishing, Jesus sits down with his disciples to eat breakfast and pops the question, "Peter, do you love me?" Peter obviously responds that he loves him but, incredibly enough, Jesus asks him the same question again. And again. Three times. Why is he doing that? Is Jesus being intentionally stubborn? What is going on here? Is Jesus really asking the same question three times? If so, why? And what if the problem lies in the English translation of the passage?
