A CUT TREE TEARS INTO TWO PIECES (watch & learn to avoid)

Barber chairs are not typical in Finland because most of our trees are soft and flexible. I was shocked and tried to prevent it from happening.

I get a lot of comments about cutting the trees differently to avoid barber chairs. This time, I made a mistake, and the tree ended barber chairing.

I'll explain what went wrong and why, why I made the decision that caused the tree to tear into pieces.

The barber chair is something we avoid by cutting deep face and back cuts.

You'll also hear my analysis of why the tree split into two at the end of the video.
This is and was a great learning experience for me and to you!

Good demonstration and explanation, we have lots of birches here in Scotland. There is one very big old tree near near me which is is totally hollow up to about 2.5m, but still seems to be strong enough not to fall, even in big storms. It is leaning towards the river so it will not be a problem when it does fall, unless there is an unlucky canoeist passing by.

2:25 маэстро! наконец я увидел что верёвка с лебедкой натянуты не прямо по траектории падения дерева, а натянуто немного в сторону

Good tip on reading the sawdust! Could you please tell us the make and model of your felling tongs and extending pole? Also, how long of chain do you have on your Kito winch. Thanks in advance

Habt ihr nicht genug echte Bäume in Finnland, dass ihr welche fälschen müsst?
