Knitting Help - 3 Ways to Join In-the-Round

In this video, I demonstrate three different ways to join stitches in-the-round.

The Knitter's Pride tools I use in this video are Platina 16" circular needles from an interchangeable set that includes seven needle sizes.

You can find more information about Knitter's Pride needles, as well as retailers using these links:

The yarn I use for demonstration is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky.
The stitch markers I used can be found here:

My silver ring is actually a knitting needle gauge, and can be found here:

The nail polish I'm wearing is by Julep, color "Ilga":

Love your videos. I have been knitting since I was 6 years old, taught by my Scottish mother. I went on hiatus from knitting for about 20 years, with work and a bad case of carpal tunnel, but now I'm back. I watch your videos to refresh my memory and learn new techniques (ie. magic loop---circulars are all I use now!) I watched a few videos with my 8 year old granddaughter, who loves learning anything from a video. The other day I asked her if she would like to learn how to knit. Her response? "Put on the Very Pink Knits lady and she can teach me". So, there is a whole new generation for you to teach. You are a great resource and teacher. Thanks.

Since I discovered your youtube channel, Staci, my knitting has improved by leaps and bounds and I have tried so many new things - gloves, socks, lace - all really scary before. Thank you for everything - you rock!

Thank you so much for these simple tips and techniques. I live in an area that doesn't seem to have many knitters, mostly crochet. Although I have been crocheting since I was a teen, I am always interested in a new challenge. I learned how to knit on YouTube. I am one of your many happy students!

One of my favorite ways of joining in the round is to cast on an additional stitch, slip it from the right to the left needle then knit it together with the first stitch(the slip knot). I'm going to have to try these, see how they compare. Going solely on the look of what you've done, it appears I might have a new favorite method. Thank you so much for all you do. My technique has improved by leaps and bounds just by watching your videos.

I enjoyed your video, it’s very quick to the point, not overly polished, you’re showing us how to fix mistakes and finally, not a lot of chatter. You are very pleasant to listen to. I plan to bookmark this and hopefully continue to use your tips as I get back into knitting.

You have answered a question I have had for a long time. VeryPink is where I always come for clear instructions and well made videos when I have a knitting question. Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh, not only are your videos so informative and well filmed, but you have taught me how to remedy something that has bugged me forever when knitting in the round. Also, I love knitters pride and I now know that they have a short tips set because of you so I’m so excited now 😁 thank you for putting out these videos!

What would I do without you!!! I learned to knit 19 years ago and am only now really pushing myself to knit more than just scarves and everytime I look up a video, your videos are always top notch and just what I need, so thank you!

How very smart, I never thought about starting the round works in any of these ways! I used to just join, start knitting and keep going, and I do end up with this tiny "mis-step" at the joining.
Thanks for your great advice!
- and once again- THANKS FOR THE proper CLOSED CAPTIONS!

Today is Sunday, July 8, 2018. I just started to learn to knit a few months ago. I have watched several of your videos and they've been so helpful! With this video, at first, the first sample seemed easier, but then as I was watching again, the second sample seems to be the easiest, and cleanest join, of the two. I wrote down the instructions, and I will definitely give it a try on my next cast on. Thank you for so many helpful knitting tips and techniques! You are the BEST! 💝

Thanks Stacy! I used the first method on my first fair isle project and it really helped secure the last cast on stitch better than jumping right into a knit stitch. Thank you for all the great techniques!

Thank you for telling about the needles you use in this video. I knit hats and socks, and immediately ordered the set of hat needles after watching this video. I love them! Perfect for my hat knitting for disadvantaged kids, who don't have hats for our sometimes harsh Canadian winters. I love your videos - so helpful, no matter what my question is, I can get an answer here. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for these tips! Hats are my absolute favorite things to knit and I always have the jog problem and have to fix it the hard way. Since I knit hats so much I must get my hands on that needle kit!

I have a Knitter's Pride Bamboo Interchangeables and love them. I was trying to knit Knitting Worsted in socks on the small needles and I replaced them with the Platinas so these needles don't break again. I'll likely re-buy the bamboos I broke as I was using the wrong weight but I learned my lesson.

I have used a clippers marker for the keys on my set and really like that as I don't have to look for the key, attached it to the elastic.

Love your demo of how to join in the round. Stacy is the BEST!

Thanks so much for all the hard work you do to bring us these wonderful tutorials. When ever I'm stuck with a "how to" problem I have always found the answer on your channel. Please keep them coming I look forward to watching them everyday. If I don't win the knitters Pride needles, I've started saving up for them. In six months I'll be able to get them. I'm so excited!! Thanks again :)

Thanks for these great tips!! Showing multiple techniques in one video is SUPER helpful... When people ask who taught me to knit I tell them "My Internet Auntie", but I really mean you ;) Thanks!
