I believe the Sith Code was first canonized in the story 'Backstories: Star Wars – Darth Vader: Sith Lord'. It's nice that it's known as the "Qotsisajak" again thanks to this book.

I was really hoping that the Rebels would have traveled to 1960s Earth, landed in Hong Kong, found Ip Man. Having experienced what is to live in your own land controlled by a foreign empires (Japan and British), Ip Man would have sympathize with their fight again the Galactic Empire, and travels with them back to the galaxy far, far away, getting blind in the process. He later changes his name to Chirrut.
Deep in my heart, Ip Man 1, 2 and 3 are the perfect background story for Chirrut.

Chirruits beliefs are somewhat similar to G0-T0's from kotor 2. But with g0t0 he believes that the prescence of the sith instead of the dark side were necessary to stabilize the galaxy and without them the galaxy would be in anarchy for years. It's also similar to the beliefs of the father who wants to keep the force in balance. I'm guessing chirrut would believe the same thing, without the dark side, the force would be without balance
