I am fairly certain that the instructions said to turn the heat on full as well as the fan on full. Don’t recall anything about turning on the AC with the heat.

Did you have also coolant mix with the oil in the engine when you checked the oil deep stick?

Sorry but if oil mixed w/ radiator coolant shows :1) damaged oil cooler 2) engine cylinder head gasket leaking or cracked engine block . To clean: Flush out first all contaminated radiator coolant thru drain plug below or radiator hose ( intake side below). 2) then, hose down w/ clean water, radiator & engine block 3) then, return back radiator hose below suction side. 4)now, you can put distilled water (4 lit) in your radiator & your block sealant additive . Run engine . Observe for any leaks
