Really an elegant app. There are places where I disagree with the developers, but I have to respect their vision and the way they stick to it. The team has been phenomenal on updating to support new IOS features.

I have a repeating series of events that have to happen whenever I sign a new customer at work. I can create a "template" project and then duplicate it every time I sign a customer. I still have some tweaking, but easier than entering everything from scratch.

I just can't accept having to pay separately for iPhone and iPad. I understand the need for two separate payments for iOS and MacOS. But this just seems little too greedy.

Thanks for the basic review of the Things 3 iPad app. I just started using Things 3 this week. I've been an OmniFocus user for many years and found that while OmniFocus is a pretty good medium-sized project management tool and functional task manager, it wasn't the best tool for me to manage priorities and my basic daily tasks. Things 3 so far has been a very good task management tool for me - it helps me focus on the areas of my life that I consider priorities with an interface that makes priority management simpler, faster, and more intuitive than other tools I've tried. You asked a question about why one would want to copy a project. Here are some reasons: 1) You write articles for a business that require the same 10 steps to accomplish, so you save those steps in a template titled "Article" template. When you write an article you copy the template and quickly customize it to your current writing project. 2) You make educational video content with completion steps that are exactly the same most of the time. You copy and your trusty "Video Project" template whenever you make a video to tick off each action required to complete the project. 3) You're in medical school and there are several things you've discovered you need to do to get ready for each class to be successful. You copy your "School Success" template and work through each step in an organized, sequential fashion whenever you start a new class. 4) You have a grocery shopping list that is similar from week to week that could be a Things 3 task with a bulleted list in its notes area. Each trip you tick off the stuff you pick up. When you need to go shopping again, you un-tick the items from your bullet list you need on that trip. (the shopping list in this case is basically a list that doesn't necessarily need to be copied but can be recycled as needed).

I am a HUGE fan of this app! I’ve had it for a while on my Mac and phone. I’d stopped using it for a while (I just didn’t have a need or was trying other this). Now that I’m working to manage a real estate team, it has been SUPER helpful. I think it’s worth every cent.

How about a review comparing Things 3 with Sorted 3? Thank you!

Duplicate a project is very handy. I made a section with 'project templates'. Because of the duplicate setting I can easily copy standard projects for al of my content.

The fact that you need to buy it separately is extremely annoying. I haven’t purchased it yet because I still dont see a $30 of value in the two apps over the fully functional reminders app.

As an Architect duplicating projects helps me a lot. Most of the projects have similar structure.

What makes this app worth its purchase price compared to the free Apple Reminders app? Perhaps you could do a comparison video.

Hi! I just wanted to know your thoughts are on the difference between Notability and Noteself 2! I've just been binge-watching your videos and I love your content! Keep up the great work ❤

You should give a try to Kyoku Flashcards, to study with paperless flashcards in your iPad using the Apple Pencil

You duplicate a project when you have project acting as a template of steps that you want to reuse

I cant ever get around not being able to make tasks repeat.

I typically use ticktick, a great no frill todo app. Has a subscription but you can do 90% of things without it or get it, its pretty reasonable and on all platforms!

Hello Ropsie,
I am always amazed by very organized people with a digital planner ... I tried it several times whatever the Application ... and always abandon it gradually cause I have the impression that I remember what I have to do every day provided I check my calendar before ... or in the morning ... so I live with the calendar that, s enough :-(
The only one App that I use on the go is Reminder, especially if I have to remember a list (shopping is a good example) or an address or a flight number etc.... ( and Reminder is free and sync over all your Apple devices).
Your video post is comprehensive and clear about all you can do with this Things ( but I would never do it ... ha ha ha ... i am to lazy ... may be to old :-)
Take care Ropsie and have fun (no plan for that) !
Erick

Very nicely done! The beginning pace was a bit fast making it difficult to hear your name. But, nice adjustment after the first minute. I listen to a lot of tutorial type Youtube videos. Your presentation is one of the best. I will not become a Things user based on some of the limitations you mentioned. But, I can see it has value for some - again, thanks to your presentation. I really appreciated that you took the time to list the hardware and software tools you use. There are a couple like WriteMapper I was not aware of before viewing your video. I will purchase WriteMapper - hint build affiliations. I will subscribe so I can keep an eye on your work! Keep broadcasting!!!

On your iPad Pro do you find the text in Things3 too small?
