Harbor Freight has really upped their game in the last several years. They went from literal crates of salvage junk to being seen in every professional shop out there.

Good score with that parking lot sale , by buying that many you can compare them but the hit and miss on nine ICON ratchets is a little RED flag on product control, Great review thanks Jeff

I get the feeling that the ICON ratchets can be hit or miss. I have the 14" 3/8 flex head with the comfort grip handle. When I unboxed the ratchet in the car I noticed that the flex joint is a little funky. It stays put however in the range of motion it has floppy spots. I almost walked back into the store to return it, get my money back and go buy the DieHard version. When I got home I tried tightening the screw but it can't be tightened any further. I do prefer a ball detent on my flex heads. The ratchet mechanism on mine is smooth. I really like the firm feel of the comfort grip handle and its red color. I haven't used it yet so we'll see how the flex joint is down the road. At full retail price there are better options out there for less. The DieHard version is $35. At 40% they are a great buy. I like to test drive ratchets in the store before I make my purchase. The ICON packaging makes that impossible. You won't know if you have a dud until you unbox it. Another issue is that Harbor Freight only has 2 or 3 ICON units in stock at a time. They have all kinds of the Pittsburgh ratchets. If Harbor Freight packaged the ICON like they do the Pittsburgh the price could be lowered a bit and you can weed through the units until you find one that is to your liking. they all have the same ammount of backdrag in the head basically. but the smaller the handle the less mass to swing it down so you just dont notice on those big ratchets! nice video jeff

Ok, you, may have more ratchets than I do. Keep up the great ratchet vids! This week, I purchased a classic Snap on F720 ratchet and an F723 quick release repair kit to convert it to a 30 tooth quick release ratchet. Also got a 3/8” KTC 72T swivel head new. It has a remarkably small head for a swivel.

Great haul. My HF is 1 1/2 hours away so I missed the big sale. I'm a little shocked at how stiff the 1/4" ratchets are especially when my Pittsburgh 1/4" are the smoothest ratchets I have. Looking forward to seeing why they are so tight. I hope you took your wife to Hobby Lobby to make up. Great video Jeff
