I live right in "sasquatch" country, near Harrison lake!

Never seen one, but it is an interesting idea.

I can tell you that when you're deep in the woods, with no people or even animals visible or audible for miles, it's easy to imagine things.

"my pink dragon is invisable" well then how do you know its pink?

Nice episode! I only wish you'd mentioned the null hypothesis; it's extremely important and relevant to the discussion that in science, the default position must be that nothing exists unless there's enough evidence to contradict that assumption.

It's easy to say it's a guy in an ape suit... until you see it against a guy in an ape suit.

I love this video; great production, great perspective.

I found this analysis fair and scientific enough. Key is this: all we need is one specimen, dead or alive. Everything else is speculation.

I live in British Columbia and one time while I was camping near a lake, my friend and I saw something that looked like a sasquatch. It was tall and had small glowing yellow eyes glowing from within the woods. That was literally all I saw because when we spotted it we sprinted back to our tent.

Based on where I live, it could've been a multitude of things, like a bear or a cat in a tree.

Whats pretty damning to me is that the stabilized Patterson-Gimlin unambiguously looks like a man in a suit while the bipedal bear looks very unsettling, like a whole new animal.

The production value of this channel never ceases to amaze me. In particular, Andrew Matthews, holy shit your work is amazing.

I was expecting a more scientific analysis like did it have enough food and large tracts of land to sustain a large population all that stuff for Bigfoot to exist.

Could Bigfoot REALLY exist? You can probably guess the answer, but cryptids like Sasquatch and the Loch Ness Monster can teach us a valuable lesson about how science works and what it means to try and prove something *doesn't* exist.

Fun fact: The reason my Fox Mulder hair looks so accurate is because that's exactly how I wore it in the '90s… I was very cool.

There's a Darwinian exclusionary principle, though, yes? The sasquatch would be filling the same ecological niche as the black bear, so it is highly unlikely that both creatures evolved in the same place.

I am glad I wasn't the only one to see a man in a gorilla suit on the Patterson Film!

Loved the Storytelling Style in this video. And mentioning Popper was the icing on the cake

Having been born on Oct 20, 1967 (day the Patterson footage was filmed), I appreciate this video.

As for if Bigfoot is real, I feel that since native tribes have lived in what is now North American for well over 10, 000 years, and their histories are passed down verbally from one generation to another, there must have been something to influence the legends of Sasquatch, we just have no way of determining when first encounter with such a creature could have been. So, I am sure that these creatures existed, just like I am sure that there was a Thunderbird as sometime, but like all other North American mega-fauna, the were unable to adapt after the last glacial recession and died off.

But since we can't disprove things, perhaps one will be found like the Mountain Gorillas and Orangutans, both of which where once thought to be an new form of humanoid.

that bear moseying along on it's hindlegs is way freakier looking than Hanna Barbera led me to believe.
