The way you did it for worst case scenario by multiplying entire eq 1 by one from eq 2 and visi versa is how we learned to do it on the whole

Late but still will answer the last question.

2x+y=3
5x-2y=12

I multiply the first equation by two so its now: 4x+2y=6

Using the first and third eqn
4x+2y=6
5x-2y=12



9x=18
X=18÷9
X=2

Substituting X to find Y now.
Using the second equation

5(2)-2y=12
10-2y=12-10
-2y=2
Y= 2 divided by -2
Y=-1

After all the teaching from my teacher( not saying he's bad but...) and still not understanding it watching your videos which probably took less and understanding completely thanks sir big up you.
