Lol... this is NOT for beginners. Run hard for 10 minutes on day 3 is not for beginners.

Thanks for your question. I never really ate a ton before practice but always had graham crackers or a bar of some sort in case I was hungry. I rarely went to practice on a hungry stomach. Afterwards I just made sure to have a good meal right away. If I knew I wasn't going to be home for awhile I would pack a sandwich with meat and cheese or another good staple was PB&J. I am pretty simple when it comes to my diet. I couldn't eat a ton of fruits and veggies before as it made my stomach upset but I did make sure to have carbs and protein either for breakfast or dinner. Usually a good 4 hours before I did my workout.

Love all your videos! What foods do you like to eat to power your runs and to refuel after? I need ideas of food to pack for before/after track practice.

Beginners should not be doing 3 hard sessions per week.

This is not a beginner plan. You don’t start training for your first 5k with hill sprints.

Do this instead: Monday: 3x400 very very fast w/ 3:00 rest
Tuesday: swim+ burpees
Wednesday: 2 Mile Time Trial
Thursday: 1 mike warmup, static stretch, 10 minutes easy, 5 minute break, 5 minutes easy, 5 minute break, 2 minutes easy
Friday: 2 miles easy
Saturday: race
Sunday: OFF

what if you don't have time to do all this? I'm in my last year of high school (UK) and I've got GCSEs (finals) coming up

I can honestly tell you when i started running it was not like this. First of all 3 hard workouts on the first week is going to burn out the legs of a begginer. A begginer should ONLY focus on building a strong base with easy miles!

How do you deal with aching muscles? I don't want any injuries or overburden muscles. Do you eat extra proteins?

If you`re seriously interested in running a marathon or want to set a PR then this marathon training program “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) is important. I was a reader of countless books on marathon training and a runner of two marathons and about 50 half marathons. This is a quite motivating and also reassuring book. I was able to get techniques that I did not know about. .

hey, if anyone else trying to find out how to improve your running distance try Niposcu Complete Running Adviser (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
