What German Sounds Like To Non-German Speakers

How does German sound like to non-German speakers? In today’s video I perform the gibberish most foreigners hear when listening to the German language. By means of a historical figure.

I appreciate your likes, comments and if you subscribe to this channel!

In Charlie Chaplin’s 1940 political satire comedy-drama «The Great Dictator», Chaplin himself played the ruthless fascist dictator Adenoid Hynkel which was a parody of another well known historical figure.

In the context of my video I perform a «Fake German Speech scene» of Chaplin’s movie with my own interpretation.

Watch the whole movie as well! It emphasizes the cruel absurdity of the Hitler regime.
Finally, let’s all be solidary with one another and make these darkest moments of human history never happen again.

When speaking German make sure to clench your fist or at least throw some wild hand gestures otherwise it´s just dutch.

Funny because I am German and to me it Sounds Scottish/gaelic and scandinavian and I refuse to believe that this is realistic simulation because this is definetly the wrong accent in the entire video, German sounds way more melodious even though its kinda harsh and there are some „letters“ here that do not even exist in our Alphabet or he failed at pronouncing the ones he actually meant. I dont think foreigners can truely validate this. Its just some characteristic German patterns used what maybe makes it first look like kinda german but thats not the case at all...

I'm a native English speaker, but I've gotten pretty good at German over the years. This is pretty much what German sounded like to me when I began to learn the language, but it's hilarious now that I can tell that you're just speaking gibberish.

"I speak strong" (and "sauerkraut") is all I could really understand and I'm not even sure that I understood the sentence right 😂
I actually think German sounds really attractive and hot when spoken softly and not harshly/angrily.

Don’t tell me that we actually sound like that to you people... he’s literally speaking like a German soldier from the 1900 wtf. We really don’t speak like that, come one, if I see those I always think you’ve never seen a real, normal German citizen speaking it

The only time german actually sounds like this is in some recordings from the second world war. I hope people don‘t actually think this is how we talk in germany.

The sound is accurate but we don't have to make those gestures and facial impressions to sound like that.

This is how we sound even if we're smiling

Honestly this could very well just be a very rare German dialect.

I’m not really German, but I live here for a long time. Do you know that Hitler was from Austria and the accent you created as well? It’s sounds a lot like the Bavarian accent which is how most of the simple minded people view Germany. The video is still funny though and I like your other videos as well.
