Anatomy of the TRAP MUSCLES ‼️

How do the trapezius muscles work anatomically? Well, your shoulder blade anchors your shoulder blade to the spine, and makes it move upward ⬆️, downward ⬇️, and inward ➡️⬅️. When pain or tightness is felt anywhere in this muscle, it often indicates a misalignment, and associated muscle imbalances.

Your trapezius is an important muscle, as it is basically encompasses 3 muscles and 3 movements all in 1 🤯
1. Upper Trap - Elevates the shoulders up, and also side bends the head
2. Middle- Draws the shoulder blade towards the spine
3. Lower- Pulls the blade down and towards the spine

For clarity, it is called a trapezius because it is trapezoidal in shape, not because it’s shaped like a T. Our editor was supposed to insert an image of Mr. T, but did not, and left Dr. Mike hanging and looking dumb lol.
