Session 1 - Bioinformatics for Infectious Diseases: Next Generation Sequencing
Показать описание
In this session, we discussed the emergence and development of bioinformatics in infectious disease research, what are "infectious" diseases and how they can be characterized from a data perspective - specifically, Next-generation sequencing data (NGS).
We discussed examples where bioinformatics analysis methods were used in pathogen diagnostics, viral evolutionary studies, anti-viral drug discovery, vaccine design as well as the characterization for emerging drug resistance.
