no stupid music! no big intro! just straight to it, clearly shown and expained! I LOVE THIS TYPE OF HOW TO!

The issues I have with this otherwise excellent video are first that it neither finds nor discusses the symptoms of the failing transmission. Second, it doesn’t find anything wrong on disassembly of the transmission, so we learn nothing about the cause of the transmission failure. Please supply those two bits of information in your reply.
Thanks.

This is the best most detailed transmission video I’ve seen in my entire life. Wow, you guys are amazing. I’d never do this job even being an ex mechanic so this video shows why things cost what they do and the experience they are paying for. Excellent info all around. Thank you for this.

Fabian's expertise with CVT is unmatched. He took the time to take my call while in the middle of his parts replenishment run and helped me get pointed in the right direction. Amazing service and the ability to get you the parts you need to fix your CVT the first time! Can't thank you enough for your time Fabian!!

These guys are great! My Dad has been working on my 09 Volkswagon Rabbit all summer and ran into a problem where he didn't know if he had the right valve body. After calling around with no help all day he finally got ahold of Sunbelt and they were helpful, patient and informative about the specific problem he was having. Thank you guys!

For those who are wondering, "loctite" as suggested in the video is an adhesive/sealer, but the specific variety for transmissions and you will be fine. I followed this video and rebuilt a used CVT transmission from a Nissan Sylphy (Asian variant of the Sentra) successfully. Thanks much for the detailed steps in the video!

I could maybe re-assemble a manual transmission, but these are at another level. They are both a simple concept in a way, but still incredibly complex. Very knowledgeable guys.

Wow, this is insane! So many parts to take it apart. I would never be able to put it all back together. I would have so many spare parts left.

I have been working on cars for 5 decades as a hobby. I have always driven manual transmissions, ever since my "67 Malibu SS 396 days.
My impression after viewing this: (1) Great video, thanks for uploading it. (2) I don't like all of these electronic sensors and electric switches inside and on the transmission. My current manual is smooth as silk, and it is only gears, bearings, and fluid. No cooler needed, no vacuum line connections, no codes to interpret, etc. (3) After you drive a manual trans for awhile, you will never go back to a CVT or a traditional AT.

I think the biggest problem is that Jatco engineers designed them to work purely as CVT's with the steadily increasing ratios but the Nissan engineers decided to put in fake shift points to make people think they are like regular transmissions. The sudden jerking load on the center shaft damages the three splines and the ball bearings. When that goes, it takes the belt with it.

Nice to see men who know what they are doing at work. I have a Jatco CVT and I am at 60.000 miles now. No problems yet. Impressive how complicated it is. Yet so simple. Tear apart is only half an hour. May a rebuilt do twice as long. Uninstalling and installing maybe 3 hours and relearning half an hour. So you wonder why a rebuild is so expensive??

the design and intent behind these transmissions (CVT) is good its not a transmission you can neglect the maintenance on. great upload and thanks for sharing.

This is the very Best vidio on this CVT, I love all the info Fabian puts out. I called him for more info and he made my life easier by sharing his vast knowledge with me. When he explained what I needed to know I had more faith in him than my cardiologist. He even called me a few days later to check on my progress! He's my favorite celebrity. Thank you Bro, grateful to U.

There are so many intricately shaped parts within this single component. It's honestly drool inducing to see them all... That sounds a little wrong, heh.

At any rate, this video would make great reference material for anyone drawing anything mechanical. Especially the CVT belt, that's a very curiously designed part.
