Homotopic, enantiotopic and Diastereotopic Protons

Types of protons are discussed in details. there are three types of protons viz. homotopic , enatiotopic and diastereotopic protons. homotopic can b identified by C2-axis. By rotating molecule by 180 degree rotation producing identical appearance of molecule indicate all groups and protons under study are homotopic. absence of C2 is followed by plane of symmetry (POS). if POS reflects two protons each other the these protons are said to be enantiotopic. similalry, POS bisects two hydrogens then these are diastereotopic.
