2024 Ford Mustang Review

The Ford Mustang is the original pony car, and very soon it will be the only pony car. That's because the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger are both about to gracefully bow out of the market, leaving only this, the redesigned 2024 Mustang known internally as the S650. It's set to satisfy buyers with an American, 2-door coupe with an optional V8. Now that it's a lone wolf, did Ford play it safe with this or are they trying to leap it forward into a new generation? That's what we're going to find out.

I really wish the Mustang could swing back around with the 1969 Mustang look again. I know Ford kind of did that back in the 2011ish.

The Challenger was way too porky to be called a “Pony Car”. I love my Mustang, but I’m sad to see the Camaro go. The Mustang made the Camaro a better car, the Camaro made the Mustang a better car.

Was looking at the Nissan Z, Supra and now this and the Mustang kinda underwhelms me compared to the others. Looks cool but man I don't think the handling would be up to par compared to the previous mentions.

I don't mind the design, but to think this will be the new look for the next 5 years makes me tiresome. Wish they would put out more model designs more frequently

Entire Interior dashboard is a downgrade from S550.
They removed physical buttons, cd player etc etc and tacked on a display that is not even integrated looking in the dash surrounding that will age terribly, looks glued on and not very thought out. Also ruined the traditional Mustang double hump dash design every previous model had.

“Wide and heavy”, not precise or nimble sports car for about $60k. Miata loaded up in the top trim is more fun to drive and $40k; it’s a convertible too!

If you drive a GT series racecar. You'll find that the gauges are digital. The reason is simply because they're more accurate than analog. The Gen 4 Coyote has more than dual throttle bodies and Header style Exhaust manifolds or it's 7500+ redline. I recommend speaking with a Ford performance engineer for more details. I have to ask. Why totally redesign the Mustang which would increase the price over the S650. Your sounding like the designer who built the Probe as the redesigned Mustang. I think Ford refined the Mustang lineup from the EcoBoost, GT, the new track focused Dark Horse S. The Dark Horse R, GT3 and GT4 and the upcoming Mustang GTD Super Car..

Consider the competition has dropped their cars that competed with the Mustang. I believe Ford has moved the Mustang far enough to continue it beyond it's current 50 years of continued production.

Dude, you were driving in 35 degree weather on summer only tires! That rubber compound turns to stone below about 60 degrees. Not a fair review of handling in those conditions.

Good review, but the Mustang is absolutely disappointing. Serious lack of design. Resembles vintage Mazda. Definitely not getting my money or Attention for one. 😢

NEVER buy in the first year of a new generation of any car. Wait for the mileage and time related issues to show up.

Why oh why did Ford NOT put a front camera on this 2024 GT, OR, at the very least, front parking sensors?? With that LOW front end it would seem to me, in this day and age, SOME kind of something on the front end would be a no brainer. I don't get why Ford skipped this on this car.

No side scoops, too much plastic, the front isn't Mustang, neither is the back end. It's a nice looking sports car but that's no Mustang. I wouldn't buy it. Only youngsters who've never actually had a Mustang would think this is a Mustang. Anyone else would laugh at it being called a Mustang. Sorry Ford - you've killed the pony car.
