History of Rally Australia and the 2019 event

Rally Australia covered an amazing 30 years. From nothing the event grew to the best in the WRC. Spending the first 18 years in Western Australia, the WA government abandoned the world class event in 2006. Rally Australia then moved across the country where it had a rocky start before establishing itself on the East Coast. Sadly what would have been the last event this year had to cancelled. Raging bush fires in NSW made the risks too high. As of 2020 Rally Australia is not on the WRC calendar with no slot proposed in the next year or two. Hopefully Rally Australia will return to the world circuit soon.
