This Rally is longer than the Highlights at French Open

Simon must've thought that this was still the warm up.

Meanwhile, Federer has won 6-1 the set at the same time

It looks more like a training match to me and not a Grand Slam match - especially if it comes to Simon. The only sign for me that it was a Grand Slam match was the writing "Melbourne". Or they went on record :).

that was the longest 2:32 video I’ve ever seen

This had me laughing. Pros are ridiculous. You may think this rally was especially boring, but it takes a lot of skill to go this long without any unforced errors.

I tried to think of something clever to say here but I fell asleep while watching the rally.

Meanwhile Djokovic is still bouncing the ball before service

It's like they are not even taking this seriously...

Simon is the all time best at making every single game he plays boring.

"Wow, they're both really strong."
*Pause*
"Or equally weak."

Monfils: "Hey Giles, I booked a court for us where we can play as long as we like for free!"
Simon: "Cool!"

The cardio and leg strength to bounce back from this rally is incredible.

For some reasons is this rally really calming and satisfying

The first 50 or so strokes until the two actually started hitting with authority were exemplary pushing, not because of the long rally itself, but because there were no attempts to draw a weak reply or a forced error, or hit an outright winner. Pushing = feeding passive balls when not being on the defensive (hence, having the opportunity to attack).

It's 72 strokes, in case anyone was wondering.

"The longest women's match (by time) took place at a tournament in Richmond, Virginia, in 1984, when Vicki Nelson took 6 hours, 31 minutes to defeat Jean Hepner 6–4, 7–6(11–9). The match featured a 29-minute, 643-shot rally, the longest in professional tennis history."
