How to Change U-Joints DIY in a F150

Todays video is a DIY of when I replaced the U joints in my 2006 f150 pick up truck. I don't believe these U joints where every changed as they did not come out easy at all. The biggest set back with doing any U joints is just getting them out as they seize over time. The easiest way I found to remove U joints instead of using a press is to use a ball joint tool. Using the ball joint tool allows you to have more flexibility

This video help me a lot and will like to mention few important details from the video.
1. Use 12mm tool for the back bolt.
2. Mark the shaft to install again without loosing the balance.
3. Clean and remove rush particles.
4. Keep the F150 in neutral, able to move shaft by hands.
5. Grease feelings position.
6. U joints part number. NAPA Auto Part provide me incorrect U joints twice, then check the video again and told them.
Job done by myself on a 2003 F150 5.4L Lariat CrewCab. Thank you!

Great video. Last year I had my rear u-joint changed after I noticed a "ping" sound coming from the back when shifting down at low speed. Now it has developed a "clock" sound coming from the front when the force comes off the back such as when coming off a little bit of acceleration. Transmission shifts okay. I'm thinking it might be the front u-joint which I wasn't even sure existed until I watched this video. Now I can at least talk to my mechanic in an informed manor and get him to check the front u-joint for play. Thank you.

Okay I took my 07 all the way apart and the rubber gasket around the front flange seems rather weak. Can you buy just that flange?

Nice job Jerry. That sure did look easier than the old hammer and socket method.

What is that you have under your jack stands? I'm wondering because I have a gravel driveway and I want to put something similar so my jack stands won't sink.

How do I tell whether my u joints are bad or if my driveshaft needs to be balanced? My bed of my truck shakes at around 47-50ish speed. Please let me know!!!

What keeps the little roller bearings from falling out when you pull the caps off?
