I'M STUCK AT SEA AS PORT REFUSES US ENTRY.
The captain of the sun princess just announced to everyone the port has closed and we are now stuck at sea an extra 2 days because of hurricane Milton. Passengers are scrambling to find flights home and even Princess cruise lines has had to cancel a huge event they planed on October 10th.

I'm from Tampa and I can assure you most people in Florida right now would rather be on that cruise ship than in their homes or shelters. Save you tears!!

The roads will be a mess starting tonight. Airports are shutting down now. I live on the Gulf Coast (Louisiana) and have been stuck on I-10 for 8hours just going 120miles away. Anyone on the ship disgruntled need a huge reality check.

Although stuck at sea Don, at least you will be safe. It is hurricane season after all. Many port personnel won't be there to service the ships as most Floridians have been evacuated. No planes are flying either. Prayers for all of Florida and that the ships will be safe.

Aside from the inconvenience of needing to change travel plans, there are much worse places to be stuck for two days than a luxury cruise ship. 😂 The people who get angrily upset would do well to remember that and keep things in perspective.

For the people on this cruise who are disgruntled, they need to check their privilege! Over 3 million people are worried if they will have homes so I damn sure don’t feel sorry for passengers on a cruise ship who will miss flights or hotel stays.

I’m very surprised at your attitude toward this hurricane. This is still rated a cat 5 hurricane the worst hurricane in a century. You have my profoundest sympathy for being kept safe.

Sadly Don, you need a reality check. Florida is in a crisis state. The ports have closed, the airports have closed. The roads are gridlocked with people evacuating! If you disrmbarked, there is nowhere for you to go! People have been told that this will be the storm of the century and that if they dont evacuate certain areas, they will DIE! The ship not being 'welcomed' is an obscene consideration given the severity of the storm. Since there are no flights to catch and no place to stay, you are lucky to have your cruise extended. The 'inconvenience' is ensuring your safety. You obviously have Internet access. Watch the news and get a clue!

Don's whining over the past few months, and particularly while on this ship, has become increasingly irritating.
But honestly, this one is a new low in entitlement and cluelessness.

Once upon a time he may have given tips and tricks etc. But all he gives now is incorrect pronunciation of cities and landmarks and complaints about first world problems.

I was caught in a typhoon 10 years ago. The captain did an excellent job at keeping us safe. He adjusted his speed and kept us safe from the worst of the weather. We docked in Yokohama three days late. And it didn't matter. Because we still had to wait in Tokyo another 24 hours before the airports could be opened.
At no point did I think of complaining about the inconvenience... I was safe. I was fed. I had karaoke.

I'm sorry Don, that this is your current situation. Please do keep in mind your circumstances compared to those in the path of Milton. I really do think you could call this an instance of "first world problem." Count the blessings and remember what time of year this is. Aside from whatever "other reasons " folks may attribute to decisions made, remember the words of this captain and every captain...safety is paramount. Of course it's unfortunate that your event will be postponed or altered or canceled. Consider the alternative. By the way...I m not just some disgruntled "anti cruiser". I have sailed with, served on, and continue to serve with many cruise lines and cruise ships all over the world. I appreciate much of your content, especially during the Covid-19 days. However, in this very specific time and place, in the face of possible severe weather conditions, I have to say that the focus should be entirely on the safety of ship, guest, and crew.

I could care less if your cruise ship gets stuck for a month, the priorities right now are with the people that most likely won't have a home to go to after the devastation that is heading towards Florida, you chose to cruise in hurricane season thats your problem as well all those disgruntled passengers

My Brother is also on that cruise he is one of the many passengers that have to make new flight arrangements. but both he & I are glad that everyone on the ship will be safe

Don I love you but please understand that the inconvenience of staying on a beautiful ship for a few more days is NOTHING compared to what the residents of Florida are about to encounter. A CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE! Please take a moment to reflect on this tragedy and pray for the people of Florida.
