Here's a big one for me. The airport - It easy to navigate and you can get a flight to ANYWHERE for a reasonable price.

Great video. I live in Sunrise Manor on the edge of town, East Las Vegas. I know all my neighbors in my HOA of about 100 homes. And I can be at Mt Charleston in less than an hour, hiking in Alpine meadows up to snow melt waterfalls, to 11, 000 feet altitude, incredible nature. I can ride my bike over the hills into Lake Mead National park, or across the city to Red Rock, experiencing nature and beauty as much as is possible. I can take my canoe onto the Colorado River at Willow Beach, being in nature on the water all alone after paddling for 30 minutes upstream. And on and on. Greatest place on earth, as long as you like hot weather. I do : )

Another benefit is you don't have to follow road rules at all because our police department does 0 enforcement. So red lights and speed limits are merely a suggestion, as you'll see when you drive around here for 5 minutes or so.

One of my best convos was with an Uber driver, actually several. It’s cool to listen to peoples stories about how they got to Vegas.

Howdy Jacob, one thing for families, when I lived in 7 Hills, there were nice parks and things for kids to do everywhere. Much more than where I live now in SoCal.

Lots of hiking in Mt. Charleston. There is no tax on pensions and no taxes on social security.

I live next to the 215, and on Friday and Saturday night it turns into NASCAR night at the races 🏁.

I live in the High Desert in Northern LA County (the Antelope Valley--Palmdale/Lancaster). Our climate is very similar to Vegas. Similar elevation, low humidity, hot summer/cold winter nights, almost no mosquitoes. Vegas is maybe 3-5 degrees hotter in the summer than here. We also have CRAZY winds like Vegas does, at times. It wouldn't be to hard a transition for me to relocate to Vegas.

5:13 I grew up in Detroit where the factories are running 24/7. Many bars in Detroit are "third shift" bars, so they are open when people are getting off work at 5, 6, 7 or 8am and they all run Happy Hour specials at those times. It's a pretty cool thing for people who have to work outside of "normal" hours.

I love living in Las Vegas. The only downside are the drivers. Unfortunately, prices have gone through the roof. Everything from gas prices to the cost at Von’s. Water is expensive as well.

I have lived in Las Vegas as an adult for 56 years. Vegas has grown too large, and water is a dangerous issue, contrary to what the news heads will tell you. Without electricity no one could live here in the Summer; there are two seasons, brutal heat with a comfortable break at years end. Housing here is off the charts for buying and renting. Home prices here are terribly high and the market is suffering from a lack of homes for sale. The homeless issues grow daily... it not unusual to pass dozens of tent villages along the road and in every empty lots.

The only Mountain within 100 miles that has camp grounds is Mount Charleston. It is always over packed for any holiday. Camping areas and picnic areas become a morass with no real parking and if you want to spend some time there in an RV you should make reservation 4-6 months ahead of time. No food is grown in Las Vegs or the surrounding areas. Everything sold here is trucked in from Salt Lake, Phoenix or the LA area. Normally the grocery stores stock 4-5 days worth of product. It some disaster does cause road closures food could run out in less that an a week.

Night life... any city with 2 million people living within 20 miles of the downtown area has exactly the same night life as here. Bars, nightclubs and the like are the same everywhere. It's Vegas Baby is marketing based on the experiences visitors have along the Strip. The lake is virtually empty and fishing suffers. Projections are not good for it ever filling back up within the next ten years. Personal boats are rotting in yards as you red this. The major source of business is gaming and as an entertainment business it depends on discretionary money. How's that economy thing working out for you... can you afford to visit here for three days.

One last happy bit of news is about the school district here: We rank 75th in per-pupil expenditures in the U. S. The fifth largest school district in the nation with 320, 000 students! Las Vegas schools were ranked second-worst in the nation for quality in 2021... they have not recovered in the last 2-3 years. Do your own research before investing in a move here. One town does not fit every family.

Oh yes, we do have mosquitoes here... and the state tree is now the yellow/range traffic cone. The streets are always under construction ...
