Thank you!! I am new to WC. I used to be an oil painter for years. I worked very big. I would paint along with my late husband on a back-to-back easel and when he passed, I put it all away. Didn't have the heart to create any longer. Thank goodness I had treasured friends who put everything in storage instead of throwing it out as I'd asked. When the pandemic hit, I was happy to be alone all the time - not a healthy thing for me. Again, my friends came to the rescue and bought me new supplies. WC and art journals to work in on a much smaller basis. I found that I enjoyed it a great deal. I miss my husband awfully, but I have found comfort in colour and form again! Such an enormous blessing. I appreciate your channel very much. You don't talk down to us and your tutorials are wonderful! Thank you, thank you! Much Love and Bless xo

Thank you for this. Loving what you do, love your tutorials, and really appreciate your guidance. I have learned so much from you. I studied commercial art and graphic art many years ago and have always doodled but never used my art in any regular practice. Now that I am retired, I have picked it up again and looking to use some of those principles of style, creating my own compositions ... or finding my style. Again thank you so much for all of your work.

Great advice, Louise, one thing that draws me to your paintings is the juxtaposition of a defined subject with the abstract flow of paint extending off of it for a background with movement. It captures the essence of what we probably all love about the watercolor medium. ❤

Thank you Louise! I’m nearly 65 and don’t have decades left… LOL . I followed you during two years on patreon. Now I’m following a few others to further challenge myself. One I stopped within a month. Another one is all about wet in wet, a true challenge but very inspiring. A third one also has her true self style. I’m still missing you and I know I will return to you in the end but hopefully I have learned a few more tricks and challenges and most importantly, learned more about myself. Especially what you said: find the topics that attract you most. I also learned to say no to people asking to paint their pets 😅. So, I’m learning and always watching your news. Thanks again and till later.

I found mine. I created and developed what is called in the fluid acrylic art world The Botanical Dutch Pour❤🌿. I love many different art mediums which is why I have subscribed to your channel and have been watching your creative art style of which I love, I am so happy I can go from one medium to another and enjoy so much about all of them. Thanks for sharing all you do. You are awesome!!! While I am still a growing artist and still much to learn but I am loving my journey this far. ❤

Love the bloopers at the end, I find it so hard to shoot videos, just when I think I have things going smoothly something goes wrong

Louise I appreciate your enlightening vision. I am a beginner - haven't yet thought of how to develop my own personal style. This talk and demonstration has me thinking in a new way. That's a rare gift, thank you!

Thank you, your videos help me understand a lot about the process of watercolor painting. My Grandmother was a artist. She passed away about 20 years ago. Painting brings back memories of her. There’s times when I feel like she is watching me. We did paint together from time to time. I can tell you how much I appreciate how you made me feel. I look forward to seeing your beautiful videos. Have a wonderful bless day.

Thank you, Louise for your words, that make me feel better. In the last time I felt stopped in being creative and that it's not going ahead with my learning in "my own" watercolour style, technics and self trust.
Fun should be in the foreground.
You are great in teaching and painting and to give people (and me) hope, not only in painting. Thank you so much ❤️
All the best for you and your family, Susanne from Germany 🍀🌹

Thank you so much for this video. I feel like it came along at just the right time in my art journey. I have been watching and learning from your channel for years since I started painting again in 2020. In 2022 one of my pieces was a finalist in the David Shepard Wildlife Artist of the year competition but I felt like a fraud, like the one piece was not something I could reproduce. Now I feel like, I'm doing the right thing by making paintings that are totally different because I'm still figuring out what my own personal style is. And since that competition I've made paintings I absolutely did not like and I wondered if I was just kidding myself trying to be an artist! Thanks for sharing your own personal vulnerabilities, putting yourself out on that watercolour paper exposes more of us than we want to admit. Thank you again and I'm so glad to share your journey!

Thank you! I stop doing painting for five years and I’m really having a hard time coming back. I’m also struggling finding my own art style. Thank you for this enlightenment and encouragement video ❤

Thank-you so much! You have certainly helped me figure out why I've been feeling out of sorts with my art these last few months - I've not been listening to my heart and not painting what excites me. Thanks to your words of wisdom, I know what to do now to recapture that excitement I used to have (I thought it was gone forever). Lots of love ❤❤❤
