I have the sprint booster and love it. I think Rob brings up a good point regardless of which you get it's definitely a huge improvement for the Tacoma period.

Sprint booster for the win. Been using it since 2020. Small and discreet. Also has an option to lock the accelerator petal when away from your vehicle.

I purchased a SB around a year ago but it became a shelf object when I first tried to install (the tight space was difficult). I decided that it was time. Holy mackerel! This is a fantastic upgrade. So much performance and a very small simple controller. I can’t imagine someone needing to change the modes once you find your happy place.

Follow-up: After driving a good while with SB installed, I honestly cannot imagine driving without out it! I live in the city and merging into traffic and getting away from obvious time eating or safety problem situations has been a boon. I’ve settled on Sport 4 which matches my needs. Once set, unplug the controller and enjoy. Both products are bound to be helpful but I can only speak for Sprint Booster Version 3. Seriously, look into getting one of these devices.

Just found this video. Great info!. The one remaining question I have is about gear hunting. Driving on highways in mountainous terrain my 18 TRD OR 4x4 almost constantly hunts for gears. Does the device help at all. If not I guess I will go for a tune - probably KD-Max. TIA.

Honestly I went with a sprint booster because it does the same thing but has a smaller more discreet interface. I have it in my Mercedes and a big old wonky Blinky control unit would look like crap. The sprint booster controller mounted very nicely right next to my sport comfort button and you don't really notice it's there.

I have watched videos and read comments and remained skeptical about the effectiveness of throttle controllers. I was so hesitant, but still curious, that I decided to buy a cheap "no-name" model and try it. Wow. I am stunned at how much better it is to drive my Tacoma now. I think what makes is so remarkable is not so much about the truck performance--it is driver experience. It may not make your truck drive any faster, but it sure does make it more pleasant to drive. I am sold. So much so, that I am now buying a Pedal Commander to have the best for my truck. Thanks

Ok Rob I like the location of the unit on your dash but my 2022 is a push button start. Before buying the PC ( which my dealer recommended) where would be another possible location for the unit?

The eco mode does work. I normally got 15 mpg on my work drive but i used echo today and got 17.4 mpg. Its a noticeable saving for sure
