Thank you for talking about this! My Uncle has Gulf War Syndrome. He’s slowly losing his ability to walk, talk, and write. It’s truly heartbreaking. The fact that this is even up for debate angers me. He had to fight hard for them to even take care of what they did to him with this senseless war. They believe he got it when a bomb went off and they didn’t have the proper safety equipment.

The main theory I see for the cause of this disability is that the veterans were exposed to fumes from a chemical weapons factory that was bombed and burned in their area, and the fumes lingered and harmed them. It's sad that the government can try to deny their own warriors treatment for such a terrible affliction

My uncle who’s only 5 yrs older than me has suffered from the Gulf War syndrome since the mid 90s. He was in the military for several years and built up over 50k in college money but has always been too sick to take advantage of it. 😓

My dad passed away this year and had gulf war syndrome he served, and came out with ptsd gulf war syndrome and other nasty things that the government like to coverup and not talk about. Thank you so much for talking about it. Governments need to respond for this!

every war that wildly different seems to cause a new disorder my best guess is they expected another Vietnam and got the gulf War like how soldiers in ww1 expected cavalry charges and got machine guns

The answer is the anthrax  shot / jab. We were line up by company. Right before they gave us the vaccine. We had to read a statement from the DOD. You will not disclose the information about this vaccine. Once read the soldier had to sign the document and give the following info. Name (Print/Sign), rank and SSN.

The biggest question is why the US government doesn't offer (much) medical help to the war veterans... 1.7 millions who served got no medical coverage. If the government helped and protected its vets, then it would be a good PR/ads to recruit more soldiers.
But I'm no US citizen, so what do I know?

I'm a Gulf War veteran if you're one too and you start talking about this crap you'll sometimes actually feel like you have it but if you never talk or think about it you'll actually feel better.

Memes: Iraq had no WMDs.
Iranians, kurds and american soldiers: and what do you classify chemical weapons as then?

Dear Saddam fanboys, I recommend you iranian movie called Walnut Tree.

I’m no scientist or doctor

But I imagine seeing blown apart body’s of children would seriously mess you up….

In 1918 we called it shell shock
In 1945 we called it combat fatigue
In 1994 we called it gulf war syndrome
In 2010 we called it post traumatic stress disorder

Soldiers and marines see things that disturb them, but there on task so can’t think about it or try to come to terms with it, they have to move on and while in combat they have the most serious of all tasks to do, stay alive, it’s only after the bombs and bullets stop and they can sit down do they start to remember, and then suffer….

This is one the reasons we say thank you for your service, not because we feel we need to, but because you are better then I for taking the shilling so I don’t have to (granted the MOD won’t touch me but you know what I’m getting at)

I need to understand this better. Is this just a form of shell shock? Or what’s going on? And how was it caused. Why isn’t it investigated and more talked about?
