It would be a good deal if the M2 iPad is the same price as last year, especially the price for the 2nd hand M1 iPad in like new condition is 90K JPY(vs. M2 iPad's 124K JPY).
And the screen is still the same on the 11 inch. I will buy the new one when they switch to OLED screen (probably 2024?)

To be honest the 2020 or 2018 iPad pro still runs this game pretty well, because if I have intensive fights for a long time(1 hour+), I still have to lower graphics settings on my M1 iPad. And for spiral abyss, I have to use my PC all the time.

M1 can run smoothly in 60 fps without motion blur. I hate having blurry vision.
M2 can render farther objects as well as character movements. What both of them don't have is vram. Once they add ram swap the difference would give you similar results

You should test the 120fps mode, on my M2 iPad Pro I can run everything at highest except for render resolution which is at medium(which by the way is still around 1440p) and it stays at a stable 120fps with minimal dips, which is really usable considering everything is at highest graphics except for render which is still ~1440p. I’m really impressed, considering that my iPhone 13 Pro Max can’t even run the 120fps mode at lowest graphics without constant dips in framerates.

I suggest next time, when you’re testing on Genshin Impact, do it in Sumeru, as it is more graphic intensive than any of the other regions. Also, it would be great if you also had a test with low resolution (1080p) only for iPads with M1 (and the rest of the graphics are turned to highest), as the high resolution used in the graphics of Genshin Impact in this video is 1600p, which is extremely demanding even for very powerful processors.

As expected, the 5nm M2 is a refinement of the 5nm M1, with better performance that actually translates to an improved gaming experience. The temps remain within the norm so very little to be negative about.

One extra info : We have just changed Anti Aliasing technology to FSA (no more old AA setting) into the new patch so that may affect performance.

The table is not a fair result since iPad Pros display uses much more power and Genshin Impact on iPad Pro run at native resolution (1688p, 2K+) as opposed to lower resolution on the other devices.
For example, mobile phone highest resolution settings is almost the same as iPad Pro Low resolution settings.

Test 120fps also then u will see how bad these chipsets are for gaming. I had M1 2021 and tried 120fps. It can't do it. Huge fame drops due to heat. Terrible experience

Could you please help, can't find any proper info on it. Just bought the 12.9 M2, latest iOS 16.1.1 but Genshin plays with very low resolution? Also only have the 60 FPS available. Only bought it to play this game. Any idea how to fix those two things as that is why I was buying it?
