Mexico earthquake today | 5.3 earthquake reported in Huetamo, Michoacán

An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred early morning on Friday, August 12th, 2022, at 3:17 am local time near Huetamo de Nuñez, Huetamo, Michoacan, Mexico, as reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10 km.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.0.
In Zacapuato, located 24 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Tuzantla, located 36 km from the epicenter, Huetamo de Nuñez, 41 km away, Tejupilco de Hidalgo, 48 km away, Ciudad Altamirano, 58 km away, Zitacuaro, 67 km away, and Arcelia, 71 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Morelia, located 109 km from the epicenter.
