1947-1954 GM Truck Hood Strut install *New Revision view Description*

!!!! Video Edit !!! Attention. We've made the brackets longer since the video has been made. It helps keep the hood more ridged on a troubled area. The measurement from first rubber bumper to where you drill the first hole is 5.75". The holes on the brackets are 5" on center.

the idea is great but as somebody that owns 1 of these trucks i dont see why you would remove springs that are still doing their job in my case 72 years later? these units be lucky to last a solid 20 years of operation

The brackets I received have a Centerline hole distance of 5" just a heads up so that some people don't drill 5.75" on accident. Make sure to double check distance prior to drilling.

You said 6 3/4 for the first hole but if you go to the LS Fab site it says 5 3/4 for the first hole. Which is it?

My truck has terrible hood alignment. It is high across the entire rear edge. You mention this kit *may* help with alignment issues but I see no detail in that, neither in the comments nor the video itself. What specific things can be done with this kit to better align the hood?
