Brian, I think you may have mistaken Jenius Bank's product. They are offering 5.05% in a HYSA. I do not believe they offer CDs.

I started a high yield savings about a year and a half ago with Capital One and it has been consistently around 4.25% so far. I do have a few CDs as well. One with Capital One I just let mature and rolled it to my savings. The rates on all the new CDs were not enough of a difference to me to tie up my money more for a year or longer.

If I open 2 CD accounts ($200, 000 each) with the same bank. Will I be fully ($400, 0000) protected if bank collapse?? Or do I need to open 2 cd with 2 different banks ?

I have been maintaining brokerage accounts with Schwab and Morgan Stanley, but now I think I will merge with one.
