Don’t any one realizes how serious this is

Maybe we should have listened to all of those Union workers who said they were being overworked, and working on under-maintained equipment.

The thing is, the cleanup is just a show to look like something is being done when it is impossible to clean up the mess.

After Trump visits, then the media finally starts talking about how Ohio is essentially nuked. Maybe one day they'll talk about how there was a massive rail road strike months ago about safety measures that could've prevented this, I wonder what happened to that strike...

3 weeks later? If I showed up to my job 3 weeks late I'm pretty sure I'd already be fired

The train wreck occurred 22 days and 7 hours ago, or 535 hours ago. If the creeks and rivers flow say 3 miles per hour, then the toxins have already had enough time to flow down the Mississippi and into the Gulf of Mexico. So, while it is good that cleanup crews are finally working in East Palestine, they should have been hired and working there on Feb 4th and they should have been casting a wider net.

Well good thing the RR company offered the people of the town $1, 000….but they had to sign a paper pretty much saying that’s where it ends….you would have to be a dope head, broke, or just stupid to accept that…….

Americans need to blame traitor for his “deregulation” of EPA and Safety standards for this!! This literally was a train wreck to happen!!

It’s about time this is getting the national coverage it deserves

WTF did everyone think knee capping and under funding the EPA would lead to exactly? AAAAND denying rail upgrades to give share holders some extra profit???

Bro the executives at the railroad laughed when they heard 70k a day. That’s chump change for them

He's not the only one who wonders why we are giving aid to other countries when we have enough issues in our own countries.

It took the "authorities" 20 DAYS to figure all this out????

As a Chinese, thanks for focusing on the ballon issue that actually happened every year. It was never a big deal before, but suddenly it became a matter of US safety at exactly the same time point when US had this accident. It is so easy to control what the US people is focusing on from my perspective, honestly speaking.

I'm shocked that local and state governments were going to just let the company just burn it and go

Calling it a spill is a funny way of describing them digging a trench filling it with the chemicals and then setting them on fire, in a "controlled" burning ofcourse.

As a former Engineer and conductor couple things stand out to me.First off they said sparks halfway through the train.Possibly when the train was put together a handbrake was missed or forgotten and not released.Second the wayside defect detector depending on that railroad’s rules.Could allow the train crew to reduce there speed to 30 mph until the next detector. Thus explaining the speed reduction.

Train was on fire 40 minutes before derailment.
