This is a very good review, thank you! Even though 250 Amps is clearly fooled, it's still a worthwhile welder as about 140 Amps should be more than enough for casual home welding usage.

You can't really measure the current of a welder in this manner. The output of the welder will be a modulated DC square wave and your multimeter will be trying to make sense of it by sampling at some frequency and averaging it as the RMS of the actual voltage. You need an oscilloscope for this measurement.

Quite logical that the Display of the device is Nonsense. If you think that for a normal plug and 230 Volt you can have about 16 amps or in total 3.6 kw. You need a ignition-voltage of 30 volts on the secondary side. This means that you can achieve maximum about 120 Ampere to use the max. 3.6 kw on the primary Connection .

so if 1amps equal to 1milivolt/0.001volt, then 0.001volt multiply by 127amps =31.75volt total maximum voltage output, right? 31.75volt x 127amps =4000watt
