How To Start A Car Wash Business | $837 Per Day

I’m such a nerd when it comes to businesses, take a business like a car wash. Literally all you need is water, soap and something to dry the car with. But there are so many levels to that business, you can buy a franchise, or you can buy a bucket and start right now if you don’t have that money.

But for this video our main focus is going to be breaking down the start cost, Ongoing expenses and lastly how much money you can expect to actually make.

And if you’re wondering, where did I get this idea from, it’s because I’m very nosey and I’m one of those annoying customers that ask so many questions. So, I have a car and obviously I take it to get washed every now and then, literally have washed my cars 4 times in the last year, that tells you enough about how much I care. Feel free to judge me in the comments.

So, the last time I took my car out to get a car wash, it cost me around 30 plus 5 for the sparkle plus $5 tips for the guys, they cleaned inside and out and the car literally looks brand new after the wash. But I had to get my money's worth somehow, so when I spotted the owner helping them wash my car, I asked him at least 20 something questions about how he started. I’ll tell you more as we get into the video, but let's just say it involved him making $800 on his first day and being a stripper. (can't make this stuff up)

1. Start Up Cost to a Car wash

Now I want you to erase the idea of building a Car wash and growing a location and that you're going to be the best in Town

Whenever it comes to building a business or buying an existing one with equipment, customers and employees it's usually cheaper

First of all you’ll always have the basics:

LLC get incorporated

Get you a little book keeper to run the numbers and an accountant to the taxes
Permits if any are required where you live

Get you always all the required insurance ( everyone hates paying insurance until you need it )

Lastly establish your brand: google maps, phone number and social media

Several Different Car washes with Several Different Price Points: I’m going to talk about 3 here

Beginners Car Wash:

Bucket, water source, soap, towels and lastly a vacuum ( $100-$500)

Pressure washer machine $100 - $500
Gas powered generator ( optional ) $500
Water Source: You can do water tank

Fixed Location Car Wash

The best way to do this, would be to find a car wash that’s already for sale and has everything you need inside of it
Usually you’re buying the business not the land
So once you buy the location you still have to pay rent and so on

This is what the guy initially did, he saved up money via his other jobs being a contractor and male stri%% and he bought the business

2. Ongoing Expenses

Equipment Maintenance and Replacement
You have Employees if you have any
Products that you’ll use: Chemicals, Water and electricity mostly (Buy in bulk)

3. Profits
Cars will always get dirty, even the electric ones, and even during the down market people are going to wash their car

My least favorite thing is that it's an active business, and the IRS considers it active too (so be prepared to spend time doing this, unless you learn the art of delegation)

Simple goals:
Imagine you wash 10 cars in a day
For 30$ each that’s $300 bucks a day or $6000 a month
