Показать описание
Chuck combines some of his electronics and 3d printing skills to make a coin activated talking bender bank. The design is based on a Thingiverse bust of Futurama's Bender and then modified in Tinkercad. The electronics are based on the Arduino and a Wave Shield from Adafruit. Check out this weeks Filament Friday to see Bender speak.

Everyone's been printing this file for weeks and THIS is the best implementation I've seen for it. AWESOME work! Also really like how you actually described how the sensor works, goes a long way. Have a great weekend Chuck!

Cool project. Neo pixels are ultra bright and will easily show through that thickness of print.

Also really enjoyed you going into detail about the electronics side I am extremely interested in expanding my knowledge of electronics as what I know is self taught from projects I tried and failed until working the last few years. The things I don't understand almost appear magical as in I know this does that but not always why so seeing it broken down like that was definitely interesting to me!

shifting is caused by motors skipping for 2 reasons belt tension or the stepper drivers are overheating.

That's a very thick case chuck, no wonder it took so much filament. It will be very strong though.

You should get joel to add that to his bender bank. Great job. :)

Great Video, I like that you added more detail to the build, Maybe next time some quick info on the coding..

Question: How well does the IR sensor pick up pennies? I've wondered about the emissivity of a penny and if those sensors could pick up the reflection.

Really entertaining and fun, you should sand it and paint everything except the eyes and mouth. Did you use supports on the top half of bender?

Any explanation as to how to mount the electronics?

Great, fun project. What printer would you recommend to use for that size of object if reliability and print speed is more important than surface finish? ABS and PLA, Max $2000.

Hi Chuck, could you print the davinci PLA and Fexilble filament that xyz has realised for the 1.0a printer, I'm sure a lot of davinci owners like me found your channel because of buying a davinci and would love to see you show us how to get the best out of them. Regards Gavin
